G & S Time Service is a small watchmaking workshop in the heart of the 47th St Diamond District. Simkho Barayev runs the bench, the son of a watchmaker, working the way his father taught him.
The protocol is the same on every job. Movement out before the case is touched. Polish blended to original factory grain, not buffed flat. Gaskets renewed. Water resistance tested on reassembly. The kind of small disciplines that decide whether a luxury watch keeps its value for the next decade.

The watchmaker
Simkho Barayev runs the bench.
Simkho is the son of a watchmaker. The trade was handed down at the bench, not learned from a textbook. His Instagram, @thewatchmakersson, is named for it.
Most reviews on Google name him personally. Customers ask for Simkho by name, hand him a watch, walk back out a week later with it cleaned, regulated, and ready for another decade. Repeat clients show up two and three years apart with new pieces.

"The previous polish (done by another watch service) on my watch wasn't great, but they did an incredible job correcting it. The finish is flawless now. They also took the extra step to perform a water resistance test and made sure the movement was protected by removing it before polishing. It's clear they truly know what they're doing."
